Read the lesson
Many people want to be citizens right now. I understand. But citizenship is not the first step for most people. The common path is this. First you become a lawful permanent resident. That card is the green card. You wait the required years. Then you may apply for citizenship. For many adults, naturalization follows lawful permanent residence and other requirements. Citizenship through a parent and some other routes follow different rules. Do not pay anyone who promises to skip legal requirements. Check the official route before paying for help. Do not pay for a dream that skips the law. This school explains the official citizenship path. If you do not have a green card yet, start by learning the real government information. Do not guess. Do not pay a stranger to guess for you.
